Our Airbnb in in Tasman was divine. It had huge floor to ceiling glass doors so that you could look out onto the ocean. There were 2 outdoor wooden hot tubs. We really only needed 1. There was also an amazing kitchen and bedroom.
Lets start with the views. We were able to see the sunrise every morning from the comfort of our sofa. We could also walk out to the edge on the grass if we wanted to. There were views from all of the rooms.
When we arrived I thought I had found the main bedroom and we unpacked our clothes. But a little while later Kuah informed me that the real master was on the other side. While both rooms were nice the real main bedroom had a bed frame with a TV in it. It also had a bathtub and 2 person shower in it’s attached bathroom. We had fun watching TV in bed before going to sleep.

The kitchen was designed perfectly to allow Kuah and I to work in it together. There were 2 sinks, one by the cook-top and the other by the ovens. Each had their own counter spaces as well. Although I did not do any baking in it we thought it would be perfect for the 2 of us to prepare a feast for the family.
We did several long walks while staying in Tasman. The first was to the Botanical Reserve. It ended up being different then we thought when we looked at it on a map as it is actually on Botanic Hill. We started at the bottom and walked about 2 miles with an elevation gain of 447 ft to the top. They say it is the center of New Zealand as from 1877 the top point was used as the dominate geographical reference point.
After our hike we really wanted some vegetables so we went to lunch and got some picked cabbage fish soup and vegetable stir fry. It felt really great to have a meal with so many vegetables.
The other days we did a few walks from downtown by the sea, went on a hike and tried a few other restaurants. Most of the food was just OK but Kuah ended up particularly enjoying one salmon dish, pictured below. It as really pretty plating and he said it was delicious.
The real star in Tasman was truly the house.
