My favorite thing in Vienna was going for walks. In order to help balance the delicious food I ate I walked between 10 and 15 miles a day. It was so much easier to do these daily walks as I came across so many interesting gardens, architecture, and performers.
Even the littles things here can be entertaining. For example their pedestrian crossing lights. They are the most inclusive I’ve ever seen. They have a man and a woman, with a little heart, so cute!!! They also have ones with two men or two women. And because single people should never be left out, they have those too! There are lots of cyclists in Vienna so they include them in some of the signs. I even came across one sign with an alien.
There are many little gardens and parks throughout Vienna. It’s not as green of a city as Singapore but you can see an effort has been made to create spaces for people to enjoy nature. There is also a lot of hiking around the outskirts of the city but I’ll cover that in another blog. Here is one of the gardens we came across that is beautifully manicured.
Vienna is full or interesting architecture. From modern designs on stairs to classic architecture that is beautifully maintained. I found both small and large streets to be chock full or beautiful sights. I’m not sure if the locals even notice anymore as they’ve seen it since birth but I found it to be enchanting. To be honest I really didn’t want to leave Vienna at the end of our trip. Here are some of the sights that I fell in love with.
The other wonderful thing about walking around was coming across street musicians. They mostly played classical music, which was refreshing. I did a terrible job at taking pictures as I was too busy enjoying their music but here are just a few I stopped to listen to.
