After all the walking we did in Osaka it was great to have a relaxing day at the Ryokan. Originally we thought we would be walking around the Lake Biwa a bit but the town turned out to be different than imagined. While Lake Biwa was very beautiful the area we were in turned out to be a bit industrial.
Thankfully Kuah had booked a massage for me. There were 2 parts to the massage. The first part, the regular massage ended up being the best massage I’ve had. I felt so relaxed afterwards. The second, which involved an oil treatment on my forehead and hair turned out to be a waste of time and money. I’m glad I tried it but wouldn’t do it again.
While I was getting a massage Kuah was able to relax in the room. My foot appreciated a little off time although it was refusing to fully heal.
- On the way to the massage
- Kuah in the room
- Cute ryokan decoration
We also visited the small shop in the lobby. There were not any workers in the shop while we were there but we were able to browse the gifts and snacks. They had but some samples out and Kuah tried a sample of the shrimp crackers made from the Lake Biwa shrimp. It was so good he had another sample, and then another. Finally he decided to buy a pack for him and one for each of his sisters as gifts. I sampled a few of the sweets but they weren’t worth buying. I did get a few cute hair clips.
