Miles Walked: 15
Restaurants Visited: Pasir Ris hawker center, East Coast Park hawker center, McDonalds
We live on the East West MRT line. I usually call it the green line as it’s always depicted in green on the MRT maps and in the stations the signs are in green. Today we went to the very last stop on the green line. We were lucky enough to get seats next to each other for most of the ride. I always think that it’s funny that when I go out to exercise I try to get a seat on the subway. You’d think it would be healthier to stand.
The last stop on the line is Pasir Ris. They opened a new hawker center here in January. This one has 2 floors. The bottom floor has traditional hawker food and the top floor has fusion and foreign food.
I was excited to see what they would have on the 2nd floor. The longest line they had was for burgers. They also had some poke bowls, grain bowls, Italian, Japanese and other delights. The top floor was really crowded but Kuah and I ended up being more tempted by the selection on the first floor.
We got a few real calorie bombs! We enjoyed satay bee boon which has noodles, tofu, fishcake and pork in a peanut sauce. We also got tahu goreng which is tofu and veggies in a peanut sauce. Kuah enjoyed an oyster omelette as well. I would have enjoy the oyster omelette if only it wasn’t for those pesky oysters.

After this delicious meal we started our walk. We decided to head to east coast park as there is usually a nice breeze there. We tried to take a few shots along the way home but nothing really turned out well so this week it’s a food only blog.
In east coast park there is a hawker center we used to visit on our morning walks. There were only a few people there in the mornings and most of the stalls were closed. This time it was the opposite with lots of people and most of the stalls were open. There were a lot of satay grills out in the center as well. We rested our feet for a while before moving further into the park.
Now I know lots of people like to hate on McDonalds but I will always love them. I still remember being in China after getting stomach problems for a week and knowing I could get food there that my body wouldn’t rebel against. Here in Singapore McDonalds has a huge ice cream business. They have a different special flavor each month and a booth in front of their restaurant to make it easy to get a cone, sundae or shake real quick. This month their special flavor was matcha so I had to enjoy a match choco cone. It was so worth it!
