There was a jousting festival in Rosenburg the weekend we were leaving. So we decided to take a day trip up the day before flying out. We rented a car and Kuah drove us up. We found the roads in Austria very easy to drive on which made it very pleasant.
When we arrived at the castle which was a bit smaller than imagined but still very nice. Here I learned that Austrian people have a great sense of humor. Although I couldn’t understand much of what was said the announcers and shows had most people laughing.
The story was cute and involved a fire breathing dragon. There was also some falconry performances as well. It was pretty crowded – you can see my crooked pictures as I tried to take them over people’s heads.
After enjoying the jousting we went to a small town nearby for lunch. While walking to the restaurant we saw a castle ruin on a nearby hill. So we decided to climb the hill to see the castle. It was great to have an after lunch walk and the ruin was a great surprise. It was in pretty good condition and made for a great activity.
It was a wonderful way to end our trip to Austria. Although, if I didn’t have family to visit I would have extended our trip for a year or 2!
