This weekend Kuah and I went on one of my favorite walks. Why was it so wonderful? There were plenty of places to stop along the way for a drink, snack or bathroom break. It took us through some neighborhoods we know including Clark Quay, City Hall and Bugis. There are also long stretches where we see very few people and almost no bikes or motor scooters.
Of course we had some yummy eats along the way. On Saturday we stopped for some Malaysian food that had a nice spice level to it. We got some fried rice with egg. I didn’t mind the flavor of the rice but hated the catsup on top and there were onions!!! The veggie, kong qing cai, was delicious but verry spicy. Kuah also got a Teh Tarik which is a hot, sweet, milky tea that they “pull” or pour back and forth between glasses to get the foam on top. The flavor is good but I really don’t enjoy a hot drink when I’m hot.

I saw some cool architecture as we walked around. The first is an apartment building that I’ve passed below in the day without notice but at night it really looked fun. This one is not too far from East Coast Park. We also passed some of the traditional buildings that can house homes or businesses. I love the bright colors they use and the shutters.
As we got closer to our apartment we stopped one more time for Kuah to have a snack. This one was a real heart attack bringer. It’s got stir fried and deep fried pork and lots of onions. We also saw some fun art in this area that was made with glow in the dark string.
