I absolutely loved our stay in Lucerne. We arrived by train and were able to walk to the hotel in about 10 mins. The staff was friendly and helpful. They called around and got us the best rate on a car to get to the airport later that week. Once that was taken care of the only thing left was to enjoy the last leg of our trip. Our hotel room was comfortable and provided a nice place for me to do yoga and a small fridge to store treats in.

Once settled we headed out to explore. There is a wonderful Old Town with quaint roads and historic bridges. I love the feel of old towns in Europe. It’s like going back in time but they allow you to take the comforts of today, like sneakers and access to clean bathrooms, with you. I also enjoy browsing through a lot of the touristy shops that can be found in Old Town.

The food in Lucerne was my favorite of the trip. That might have to do with the fact that they had sooo much chocolate! I bought chocolate gifts for all my family which they also loved. My favorite was an orange chocolate, that I also gave my brother. Luckily I didn’t write down the name of it. Otherwise I’d be tempted to buy cratefuls of it and have it shipped to me.
Another treat we came across was a cheese tart. It was being made fresh outside of a cheese store. We enjoyed it so much we not only went back to eat it again another day but also bought some cheese from the store for breakfast.
Yet, another thing to love in Lucerne are its pastries. Super duper delicious pastries. I declared one day to be pastry day and ate as many types as I could throughout the day. I believe the deliciousness must’ve overwhelmed me because I did not take even 1 picture of a pastry. Instead I took a picture of a healthy breakfast I had one morning. Maybe I wanted to inspire myself to eat healthy when I look back at trip memories.
