Our next Switzerland stop, Davos, was a feast for the eyes. The most common thought I had while hiking around was that it was like the most perfect postcard picture. The greens were so vivid, the air was crisp and clean and the sound of the burbling streams was relaxing.
Our first hike was 13.55 miles. It took us about 4 and a half hours and had an elevation gain of 1,528 feet. We followed Google maps and had a bit of a rough start. At one point we decided to turn around and go another way but overall it was thoroughly enjoyable. We had the biggest climb on the first half of the hike which is always my preference as I have more energy then.

Even in Davos you can’t escape some construction. It was interesting to pause and catch our breath while looking at how their machines navigated the steep terrain.
Halfway through our hike we broke for lunch at this cute bed and breakfast. They had a nice big deck with seats in the sun and shade. I had a pork dish and Kuah had some ravioli that sounded delicious but ended up being mediocre. The favorite part of my dish was the salad that had all sorts of yummies hidden under the lettuce. The service was great and the atmosphere perfect. Having a place to relax, eat a healthy lunch and have access to a clean bathroom halfway through a hike is amazing.

One the way back we just wanted to stop every few minutes to take another picture but had to control ourselves. Here are the last couple we took an the second half of our fist walk.

June 18th we had more of a rest day. We took a funicular up a mountain and then went for a short hike. It was just a little under 2 hours and we went a it over 4 miles. We stopped partway through to ride on the luge. Unfortunately, Kuah went a bit too fast on the luge and got a burn on his elbow when his car tipped. Riding a luge on a mountain in Switzerland was pretty amazing. I now regret not taking pictures of it.
