I arrived in Vienna feeling refreshed by the small friendly airport and the easy cab ride to our apartment. The apartment was a great size and had a welcoming feel. The bedroom had lots of storage so it was easy to unpack and put everything away.
Although our host had filled the apartment with everything we needed we still wanted to run out and get some of our own shampoo, toothpaste and such. We were also very hungry and decided to check out one of the restaurants our host had recommended.
We didn’t realize how lucky we were to just walk in and get a table. Now we know that most nights they are fully booked.
Kuah fell in love with their mushroom goulash. It was refreshing and delicious. I really enjoyed their grilled fish and salad appetizer and pumpkin soup. We went back a second time and Kuah enjoyed the pork dumplings and cabbage while I had the grilled char. I have found the grilled fish in Vienna to be amazing. It is usually the whole fish but it’s been easy for me to get to the meat and avoid the bones.
Both times we’ve gone all the seating has been outside. Thankfully we were seated in the shade. Although being outside can be nice the first night we had lots of little ants and the second there was a very persistent bee.
